Our Summer Vacation

Our trip to New York started in Boston, MA.  We didn't have a lot of time there because we got too lazy and just wanted to get to our final destination.  We stopped and ate lunch at CHEERS.

Once we arrived in Glens Falls, NY (Lake George, NY) we really ate and went to sleep.  The next day we decided to float down the river.  It's not like floating down the river in AZ.  Our family and a couple of other people were the only ones on the river.  They make you go on bus with a tour guide.  It was so much fun.  The weather was perfect.  Mostly cloudy with light showers.

Max fell asleep on the bumby bus ride.  So cute!

Kirk treated us to dinner on the lake.  The view was amazing and the food was pretty good too.

Saturday Jack Huffaker was baptized.  It was really cool that we could all be there.

Saturday night we arrived at the lake house on Lake George.  It was a million and a half dollar house.  It was truly amazing.  You can see it in the pic below.  This is Max in the field trying to catch bubbles.

For some reason everywhere between Lake George, NY and Vermont, Ice cream is a huge deal.  It's all really good, but there are icecream joints everywhere.  This was the happening spot at MARTHA's.

Sunday we went to Vermont to see the birthplace of Joseph Smith.  This was the monument that took so much effort and pain to get to this beautiful place.

Back on the lake.  We spent most of our time on the canoe and kayak's.

Max loving the sand and eating rocks.  He loved the water so much.

Tough guys.

Jim jumping off the deck.

We played "minute to win it" one night.  I wasn't very good at the deck of cards.

The last night we were at the lake house we had "Pirate night".  My folks make dinner which was all pirate themed and then we had to dress up and go for a treasure hunt.  It was really fun for the kids.

It was really sad that this was how our trip ended.  On the floor of the Boston Airport trying to sleep the night away.  Our flight got cancelled and we couldn't get another until the morning.  Poor Max had a rough trip.

The day after I got home from New York I headed out to Girls Camp at Camp Lomia.  I was there for 5 days.  It was good times, but I was really glad to come home and see my husband and little Max.  I missed them so much.  It was the longest I had been away from them.

oh my goodness - on your next family trip I am totally going! Ha ha I can be Nikki Huffaker for a little bit right? You guys really look like you know how to have fun! Loved that you got to go up there with them. And I'm still in awe that you went to girl's camp with only 5 weeks left in your pregnancy. AND that you also slept on the airport floor at 35 weeks pregnant. I'm pretty sure you could be a misplaced pioneer woman. Seriously - what are you doing in 2010?
