Our Summer Vacation

We decided to take a trip up to Colorado.  We figured if we were going to take any sort of vacation this summer this would really be our only option.  We decided to take the more scenic route this time and take it in 2 days rather than 1.  I didn't want to drive the entire 14 hours in one day.  We drove to Cortez, Colorado which was the half way point and right next to Durango.  We stayed the night at a hotel and the next day toured Durango.  We saw the train and drove through some beautiful cities.  We stayed in Craig for about a week then headed home.  This time we did the complete 14 hours.  Our Air Conditioning pooped out right before Tuba City and didn't start working for another hour and a half. I had to take the kids clothes off because they were so sweaty.  We prayed that it would start working again.  5 minutes later a huge cloud hit us and dropped the temp by almost 20 degrees for an hour.  Right when the cloud left we tried our AC and it started working again.  I think the coils got frozen or something.  Thank goodness Heavenly Father is looking out for us.  I think we would have died if we would have had to keep driving in the 100' weather all the way home.

We had fun in Craig.  Not much to do but the kids got to see live deer in the backyard.  They got to see chickens, cows, horses and pigs at the Moffat County Fair.  But most of all they got see their Grandma and Grandpa.  They loved their house.  They didn't want to leave.  When we pulled into the driveway they both started crying and asked to go back.  It was cute.

This past weekend we drove up to Snowflake with Brock and Jesica.  We stayed at Jesica's Dad's house.  We just wanted to get out of the hot weather.  That didn't work.  It was still 100 degrees in Snowflake.  However, Jesica's Dad's house is totally awesome.  Huge, green yard with quads to ride.  He has a huge pond (swimming pool size) full of bull frogs and fish.  We got a huge bull frog and the kids were so scared of it.  It was super funny.  We had a good time just doing nothing.  We sat out on the porch and just chilled.  Good Times.

So even though our summer vacations weren't super cool, we did get of Mesa.  It was so much fun to see Jim's family.  We can't wait for them to come down in the winter and hang out with us longer.  So I really hope our vacations hold me over until next Summer when we go to the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Then I can have another baby after that....hehehe

FOUR CORNERS. 4 states at one time.

Deer just walking down the street in a residential neighborhood.  No big deal....haha

Mexican Food in Snowflake.

Max also turned 3 on August 18th.  We had a little party with the free cake I got from Bashas.  He blew out his candles and opened up all his presents.  I think he had a good day.  Grandma and Grandpa Barainca let them open up all their birthday presents while we were in Craig since they wouldn't be down here.  They got some awesome stuff!!

The bullfrog.  It was a cute little guy.
