Then came Christmas. 2 weeks before Christmas I got sick again. So sick I couldn't get out of bed for a few days. Poor kids had to defend for themselves. My Christmas was a bit ruined since I was too sick to go to church and I wasn't able to get my baking done. I love baking for the neighbors and friends and this year it just didn't happen. I was able to hit about 3 of my neighbors on Christmas Eve. Luckily I got all my Christmas shopping done way in advance. So I took care of the worldly side of Christmas but I did not get any meaningful Christmas this year. I was supposed to sing with the choir in our Christmas program but I lost my voice and was too sick to even make it to church. I got to the temple twice but didn't get to see any of the programs. Our family didn't do our "baby Jesus" this year. So it was a bit dissapointing. Next year I have a lot ideas on what to do differently. As much as I love decorating, baking, wrapping presents and listening to Christmas music, I need to real stuff. HOWEVER, Kirk and Bonnie and their family came into town for a week so we had a lot of family time. We did our traditional music videos and gift exchange. We had a good time for sure. We got to web chat with Grandma and Grandpa B, Vanessa, Brian & Jayden and Joe & Allie on Christmas Day. It was so fun to talk to them and sort of be there all together. We were just missing Rochelle to make it complete.
New Years Eve came and was a bit dissapointing. Some family came over and we ate goodies and let off fire crackers. Most everyone left by 10:45. Brock, Jes, Jim and I stayed up and watched Ryan Seacrests Ball drop show. Not that entertaining. But there was Sparkling Apple Cider and egg nog involved and toasts did happen. Heck, it's the only time of the year I get to pull out my glass collection and actually drink from them. They just sit there and collect dust.
Now we get to look forward to Valentines Day! Max and Molly are cute as ever. They are a little sick right now. Max has pneumonia and Molly has just the junk. She projectile vomitted in the truck with Jim last night. Loved cleaning that up! Anyway, they pretty much act the same age. They talk on the same level. Max may understand a bit better but they pretty much are twins. I think Max is a little behind in his sentence structure. He is having a hard time making complete sentences. I think Molly does this better than he does. I really want him to start preschool in August so we are working hard on all of our letters and numbers. He has regressed in the past year. A year ago he knew all of them and now not so much. We are trying to get him to write his name but it's not happening either. My lack of patience I'm sure is why he can't do these things. We are also trying to get him to ride a normal bike with training wheels. He seems to have a hard time with the pedals. So he reverts back to his tricycle. Molly is good with her tricycle she just needs work on her steering.
Jim is good and super busy. With his new job it keeps him at the office longer and he never gets a break to do anything. He's thinking about going back to school but if I don't bug him about it I don't think he will ever register...we will see.
And of course I am doing the same ol same ol. I have become a "couponer". The thrill of getting an item for free has sort of consumed my life. I'm not saving any money on groceries yet, but my pantry is sure happy. I don't spend more but I'm not spending less and that is what I need to fix. Maybe the month of February we will see some success.
We are working on a few projects lately..I will post pics.

Thomas the Train blanket I made for Max. The picture is blurry since I took it with my phone. I hate my phone.
Made this purse out of extra material along with the placemats above. I was trying to see how much stuff I could make out of scraps of material and a pair of jeans.
